Upper Dublin honored at state conference for annual Fire & Ice Fest

Upper Dublin Township was recognized for excellence in recreation and parks programming for its annual Fire & Ice Fest during the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) Awards Ceremony on Tuesday evening.

Several members of the Fort Washington-based Upper Dublin Parks & Recreation (UDP&R) team attended the annual conference held in Hershey from March 16 to March 19. PRPS is a statewide association providing industry leadership, professional development, advocacy, and resources for those working and volunteering in parks and recreation.

During the four-day conference, UDP&R had the opportunity to showcase its programming, innovative initiatives, and dedicated staff.

Led by Assistant Parks & Recreation Director Tammy Echevarria, Fire & Ice Fest has grown to become UDP&R’s largest special event. Drawing thousands of attendees each winter, the event invites the community outdoors for a celebration of seasonal fun, food, and entertainment—at a time of year when most are hibernating indoors.

“We are incredibly proud of Tammy and the entire UDP&R team for their vision, creativity, and hard work,” said Kurt Ferguson, Upper Dublin Township Manager. “Their commitment to creating inclusive and engaging programs is a reflection of what makes our community so special. We’re also deeply thankful to the residents, sponsors, volunteers, and partners who continue to support events like Fire & Ice Fest year after year.”

UDP&R extends its sincere thanks to all who contribute to the success of its programs—especially the sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and enthusiastic attendees that bring events like Fire & Ice Fest to life.

UDP&R is a department of Upper Dublin Township, located in Fort Washington, PA, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life through parks, recreational programming, and community events.
