Stephanie Rosenfeld of Upper Dublin was featured today by ABC News in an article titled “Hormone therapy getting second look for taming menopause symptoms“.
According to the article, Rosenfeld’s cancer treatment led to early menopause with hot flashes, mood swings, and an “inability to focus.”
“You kept walking away from things, and things would take you twice as long,” she said.
Rosenfeld sought out Temple Health gynecologist Dr. Debra Somers, who got her started on hormone replacement therapy, a method Dr. Somers says carries a .08% risk of breast cancer according to a 2002 Women’s Health Initiative study.
“The energy level is back. I’m back to being at the gym 4 or 5 days a week. I’m back to keeping up with my teenage daughters,” Rosenfeld said.
