Upper Dublin Township is Seeking Ward 2 Candidates to Serve a Two-Year Commissioner Term

Upper Dublin Township Board of Commissioners is seeking interested and qualified individuals for appointment to a two-year term as the Commissioner for Ward 2.

The seat needs to be filled due to Ward 2 Commissioner Sharon Damsker, who resigned on  November 14th, from her re-elected position as a Ward 2 Commissioner.  Damsker has held this position for the last 10 years, and explained to the Board that she will be moving out of her Ward in early December.  This came as a surprise to the Board and something that Damsker did not anticipate, until she and her family recently found their ideal home, and she decided to do what’s best for her family.  Damsker noted that she would remain in the township.

This individual replacing Damsker would serve a two-year term representing their ward on the Board of Commissioners, which has responsibility for administering the corporate powers of Upper Dublin Township as defined by the First Class Township Code.

To be qualified the Township states:

The appointee must be a registered voter and have lived in Ward 2 for a period of one year prior to the appointment. The area of Ward 2 is defined within the Ward maps on the Township website: http://www.upperdublin.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/WardMap.pdf. Qualified individuals, please complete this optional application form to express interest in this appointment. This form or resumes should be emailed to pleonard@upperdublin.net. The deadline for submitting that information would be Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

The appointment will be considered at the January 2, 2018 Reorganization Meeting of the Board of Commissioners.

For additional details on this opportunity an individual can contact any member of the Board of Commissioners or the Township Manager. Annual compensation for the position is established by ordinance at $4,375.00.
