Upper Dublin Triathlon scheduled for May, seeking volunteers

The Upper Dublin Triathlon has been scheduled for Sunday, May 21, and will feature a 350 meter swim in the UDHS Pool, an 8.3 mile bike race and a 3.4 mile run all in the Fort Washington area.

The Upper Dublin Township Board of Commissioners is seeking volunteers, and has posted the following:

DESCRIPTON OF VOLUNTEER POSITIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

EVENT VOLUNTEERS (report at 6:30am) – trash clean-up direct athletes.  You will be on your feet for the majority of your time commitment.

TRANSITION AREA (report at 5:00am) – Body markings, man the bike transition area and man receiving area. You will be on your feet for the majority of your time commitment.

RACE COURSE VOLUNTEERS – (bike & run) (report at 6:30am) – located throughout the race route and/or at traffic control points and marshaling athletes.  You will be on your feet for the majority of your time commitment.

FINISH LINE VOLUNTEERS – (report at 8:00am) – help hand out items at the finish line

CLEAN-UP VOLUNTEERS – (report at 10:00am) – help clean-up site, collect equipment, signs, etc.

HYDRATION STATION VOLUNTEERS – (report at 8:00am) – hand out water to runners

A volunteer information packet with details of the day, timeline, contact information, where and when to report and a complete description of responsibilities will be emailed to each group/volunteer the week prior to the event.
