Warminster man charged with fatal shooting of girlfriend in West Conshohocken

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and West Conshohocken Borough Police Chief Salvatore Carfagno announced today the arrest of Michael Dutkiewicz, 26, of Warminster, for the shooting homicide of 25-year-old Alyssa Rose Wiest of West Conshohocken just after midnight on Sunday, May 18.

Please note the district attorney’s announcement states he lives in Warminster, while the court documents show Warrington.

According to the report, West Conshohocken police were dispatched to the 200 block of Moorehead Avenue where they found Wiest face down on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to her torso. She was transported to Lankenau Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A joint homicide investigation by West Conshohocken Borough Police and Montgomery County detectives found the door to the victim’s residence ajar and blood both inside her residence and along the sidewalk leading to her body. Detectives processed the scene and recovered five projectiles.

The investigation found that Wiest and Dutkiewicz had been in a relationship for the past two years.

A warrant was issued for Dutkiewicz’s arrest and he turned himself in at noon to West Conshohocken police. He is charged with First-Degree Murder, Third-Degree Murder and Possessing an Instrument of Crime.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 27, the DA said.
