Water Tower Cinema, located at 750 Montgomery Glen Drive in Montgomeryville, is now operated by Maryland-based Flagship Cinemas, The Philadelphia Business Journal reported.

Flagship Cinemas signed a 10-year lease which began October 1. The Goldenberg Group, a Blue Bell-based real estate firm, ran the 10-screen movie theater since 2019 and will continue to own the 33,000 sf property.

$1.5 million in renovations is expected to span four phases over 18 months. Upgrades will include the building’s exterior, lobby, gallery areas and snack bar, and the theater’s largest auditorium, The Journal said. The remaining auditoriums will be renovated three at a time so that the majority of the theater can remain open.

Heated recliner seats and self-serve popcorn are included in the renovation plans as well.
