Wissahickon School District Releases Absentee Information for Thursday’s Super Bowl Parade

The Wissahickon School District just released this information should you choose to have your student miss school on Thursday for the Parade:

The Wissahickon School District recognizes that a laser focus on academics is paramount to the success of our students. We also recognize that school spirit, community engagement and shared cultural events are also all critical components of a positive and memorable school experience.

The Philadelphia area continues to enjoy the euphoria of the Eagles winning their first Super Bowl Championship. In that spirit, we believe that many of our families are planning to attend the championship parade on Thursday, February 8, 2018

The Eagle Nation celebration has been, and continues to be, awesome and Wiss Nation is mindful of the unique family opportunity that exists on Thursday. As a result, the School District has determined that students who are absent that day and who submit the Eagles Parade Student Absence Form (CLICK HERE FOR THE FORM) will be marked as excused under the ‘Special Event’ designation.

The school where your child attends needs to receive this signed form, in hard copy, no later than Friday (2/9/18) for an absence related to the championship parade to be deemed an excused absence.

Thank you.
