Wissahickon Trails, an Ambler-based environmental organization, is asking for feedback on possible improvements to its Green Ribbon Trail, the organization announced Thursday. The Green Ribbon Trail is a popular hiking route which stretches 10.5 miles from Upper Gwynedd to Fort Washington State Park. In collaboration with Upper Dublin, Lower Gwynedd, Whitpain and Whitemarsh Townships, Wissahickon Trails is looking to upgrade six road crossings along the trail.

Along with road crossings, other improvements would include connecting the trail more to nearby neighborhoods and finding ways to make hikers more visible to motorists. The Wissahickon Trails has created a survey for residents and hikers to give their input on proposed changes and share ideas for trail improvements. A public meeting around will be held on Thursday, September 24 to discuss the possible changes. Members of the public are encouraged to ask questions and share their hiking experiences on the trail as well as potential safety concerns. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Upper Dublin Township Building, located at 801 Loch Alsh Ave in Fort Washington.
