On the agenda for Whitpain Township’s Zoning Hearing Board, real estate company MEH Investments is seeking approval to convert the Reformed Episcopal Seminary into an education center for autistic individuals. The property is located behind P.J. Wellihan’s in Blue Bell at 831 DeKalb Pike and 826 and 832 Second Avenue.
The school would be operated by Capstone Academy, an organization that provides educational services to those with autism through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Capstone’s proposed school would operate from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and would serve individuals aged 6-21 years old.
Capstone is currently located at 351 E. Johnson Highway in East Norriton. In addition to its educational services, the organization says it partners with local universities to conduct autism research.
A public zoning hearing will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. For more information, visit this link Calendar • Zoning Hearing Board Meeting.
