On the May 21st agenda for the Whitpain Township Zoning Hearing Board is an application from Mavis Tire Supply to operate an auto repair shop at 1773 DeKalb Pike in Blue Bell (Whitpain). The property was previously a Monro Muffler location. The hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the township building.

According to the application, Monro operated on the property after receiving a special exception from the zoning hearing board, and that zoning relief expired with Monro ending its operations. Mavis now seeks the same special exception. It is also seeking a variance to allow two signs that are larger than permitted in the zoning code (49′ and 38′ square feet instead of 25′ and 16′ feet square feet).
