Montgomery County officials announced today that there are 120 new cases of Coronavirus in the county, of which 36 are from a long-term care facilities. That brings the countywide total to 5,642.

Officials reported 13 new deaths confirmed to be from Coronavirus, which brings the countywide total to 467. Of those deaths, 407 of the 467 or 87% are tied to long-term care facilities. Data for probable deaths was not available.

Hospitals in the county are still reporting that the number of patients due to Coronavirus is in the high 200s and 33% require a ventilator.

The 14-day total of positive tests is 1,338 with a daily average of 95.6 based on the county’s data. The goal set by the governor is to have a 14-day daily average of 30. The county is currently off that pace by 65.6.

The local data is as follows:

• Ambler is at 91, which is the same as yesterday
  • There have been 11 deaths overall in Ambler
• Lower Gwynedd is at 122, which is four more than yesterday
  • There have been 18 deaths overall in Lower Gwynedd, which is one more than yesterday
• Upper Dublin is at 139, which is two more than yesterday
  • There have been 11 deaths overall in Upper Dublin
• Whitpain is at 98, which is one more than yesterday
  • There have been four deaths overall in Whitpain

There are 94 long-term care facilities reporting 1,634 residents and 595 staff members who have tested positive. Not all are Montgomery County residents.

The county’s testing sites are reporting that 13% of the 4,981 it has received results back for have tested positive. The sites have tested 5,116.
