The Wissahickon High School Robotics Team hosted an Hour of Code event, sponsored by Amazon, to celebrate Computer Science Education Week.
This program brought more than 40 community members and their children together with Team 341 mentors and students for an hour of in-depth computer science exploration.
The younger attendees worked with their peers and parents through a variety of “Dance Party” activities while the older crowd worked more independently on a combat-themed quest.
When the hour was over, our team invited participants to drive our 2016 robot and see how careers like computer science can directly apply to the real world. Students were delighted to operate our robot and shoot foam balls at our team members.
