Former Lower Gwynedd Township Supervisor Kathleen Hunsicker passed away on October 12th at the age of 62. The mother of five served as a Lower Gwyndd Township Supervisor for 14 years, and she held the position of chairperson near the end of her tenure on the board.
During her time as a supervisor and while serving on the township’s parks & recreation board, Hunsicker worked on projects that brought the community together, including the Countrie Picnic, Pike Fest, and the development of trails throughout the township. She also served as a trustee of her alma mater, Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School, where she helped establish the Mary Ann Harron Haley ’50 Music Scholarship in honor of her mother.
Following her death, the current township supervisors, shared the following statement:
The Lower Gwynedd Township Board of Supervisors and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Kathleen Hunsicker. Kath served on the Township’s Park and Recreation Board for 8 years and as a Supervisor for 14 years. She cared deeply about our community and served it well. Our hearts go out to her family.
