Ambler Borough Police Briefs | June 18

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS – On May 20th, police responded for an intoxicated male in Knight Park. Since multiple people pointed at the shirtless male in question, contact was made and the suspect was identified as Tyler Jones 32 years of age of the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike. Police could smell alcoholic on/about his person, his speech was badly slurred, and he was unsteady on his feet. Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the station and placed in a holding cell. Jones was given a PBT which showed a BAC of .25%.  Jones was cited for Public Drunkenness and housed. A relative came to the station to take custody of Jones.

DUI – Steven Joseph Knapstein 46 years of age of the Fort Hill Circle, Ft. Washington was arrested for DUI after police observed him driving without lighted lamps or illumination on May 31st. Once contact was made officers smelled alcoholic beverage on/about his person, eyes were bloodshot and his speech was slurred. Three sobriety tests was given and he failed two of the three. Knapstein was given a PBT which showed his BAC as.18%. Knapstein was placed under arrest and transported to Upper Dublin Police to be processed.

THEFT –On June 9th, a resident in the 300 block of Daniels Road reported that his Samsung Galaxy 7 cell phone was stolen from his vehicle. He went out to his vehicle in the morning to find all the items from the center console thrown about his vehicle and the cell phone was taken. It is unknown of the value of the phone.

THEFT – On June 9th, a resident in the 400 block of Tennis Avenue reported that he went to his vehicle and found two men, one ducked down on the side and the other one exited from the driver’s side door. When the men spotted him they ran. He stated the belongings in his vehicle were rummaged through, but nothing was stolen.
