Ambler man sentenced for sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint

Anderson Danilo Luna-Mazate, 20, of Ambler, was sentenced to 6½ to 13 years in prison on charges that he forced a woman at gunpoint to perform a sex act on him while they were at a local nature preserve, The Pottstown Mercury reported.

The incident took place in July 2025 at the Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve in Ambler. The Ambler Borough Police Department announced his arrest on June 29.

The same month, Luna-Mazate was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by force, indecent assault by force, simple assault by physical menace and possession of a concealed weapon. He also faces a lifetime requirement to report his address to state police in order to comply with Pennsylvania’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act, The Mercury said.

According to police, he was apprehended by the US Marshals Service in Union County, New Jersey following a several months-long investigation. He was then extradited to Montgomery County to stand trial on multiple charges.
