Ambler Theater celebrates 97th birthday, shares vintage photos

The Ambler Theater announced that Wednesday, December 31 is the nonprofit’s 97th birthday.

According to their post, the theater’s doors first opened on December 31, 1928, with the Joan Crawford silent “Our Dancing Daughters”.

“It’s 97 years later and we’re still showing great new films. We wouldn’t be here today without all of the decades of support from the Ambler community,” the post said. “Thank you to everyone who has come to see a movie, become a member and made a donation to our nonprofit theater.”

The post includes a fundraising plug for the theater’s aging projection system. If you’d like to donate to the cause, you can go to amblertheater.org/donate.
