During the August 18th meeting of Ambler’s borough council, council members took a poll to determine whether to hold a reorganization meeting at the regularly scheduled September 1st meeting. A reorganization meeting is necessary to determine the leadership of the council. Currently, Elizabeth Iovine (D, Ward 3) serves as the council president and Louis Orehek (R, Ward 1) is the vice-president.

Councilmember Redmond Brubaker (D, Ward 2) raised the possibility of holding a reorganization meeting and asked the borough’s solicitor about the process of adding an agenda item. The solicitor, Alex Glassman, advised the board that a majority of the board could direct the borough manager to add the agenda item.

Joining Brubaker in supporting adding it to the agenda were Nancy Roecker Coates (D, Ward 3), Lindsey Morrison-Daku (D, Ward 2), Tracy Pavlovic (D, Ward 1), Jennifer Henderson (D, Ward 2), and David Hui (D, Ward 3). Karen Sheedy (D, Ward 1) and Orehek did not offer an opinion.
