The Wissahickon Valley Water Shed is holding Walk the Wissahickon this Sunday, September 24. Hikers can choose to walk 5, 8, 13 or 21 miles of the Green Ribbon Trail, which follows the Wissahickon Creek from North Wales and eventually connects with Fairmount Park’s Forbidden Drive.
If you take the challenge to hike the longer distances , an anonymous donor has pledged $50 for every 21 mile hiker (from North Wales to the Schuylkill River) , and $25 for every 13 mile hiker (to the Morris Arboretum Bloomfield Farm), in a generous effort to raise money for the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association.
All hikes begin at Upper Gwynedd Township Park, 1 Parkside Place, North Wales, PA 19454 MAP
