Another Storm Expected Tuesday and Wednesday

The National Weather Service has issued information about the next storm expected  Tuesday night and Wednesday. As of now, substantial snow accumulations are expected for most of this area. Travel will be very difficult and hazardous with road closures possible in the hilly areas. Heavy wet snow will cling to trees and wires, leading once again to power outages and downed trees.

While snowfall amounts are subject to change, this is now a medium confidence forecast. Most of the snow is expected to fall during Wednesday. Snow will be wet and heavy, difficult to shovel, and will collect on trees and wires.  The exact track of the storm and the resulting precipitation rates will determine the timing of the transition from rain to snow.  The National Weather Service warns:

While being sensitive to those still suffering from last week’s storm, we want to ensure everyone is aware of the renewed threat for heavy, wet snow, downed trees, power outages, and difficult travel with this next system Tuesday night through Wednesday. Our best advice…be where you need to be Tuesday evening, then stay at that location through Wednesday in order to ride out the storm. Make sure your car has a full tank of gas, and that your generator has enough fuel, too.

We will keep you updated…
