Based on the Book: Bestseller Cinema

On Friday, February 17th, join the Upper Dublin Public Library and KYW Newsradio’s Film Critic, Bill Wine, for a talk on movies based on books and the differences between reading a book and viewing a movie.

From UDPL:

We know in our hearts that books and movies are so different that we really shouldn’t compare them. And yet, we just can’t help it. In this presentation Bill Wine discusses the psychological differences between the reading and viewing experience. He also analyzes the way classic and modern novels have been translated into films. A collection of indelible written works that have provided the source material for storied, memorable movies are discussed.

The program is from 7:30 pm to 9 pm and will be held in the Main Meeting Room. The UDPL is located at 805 Loch Alsh Ave. in Fort Washington. For more information, call 215-628-8744.
