Bobby Shantz, an Ambler resident for the past 70 years and the oldest living recipient of Major League Baseball’s Most Valuable Player award, was featured by 6ABC on Monday.
On Sunday, Shantz celebrated his upcoming 100th birthday (which is on September 26) with a parade and a party which included family, friends, the Wissahickon Fire Department, Phillies ballgirls and the Phillie Phanatic.
Shantz was presented with a Phillies jersey featuring the number 100, 6ABC said.
