Stephen T. Nickel, 48, a former Whitpain Township police officer, has been convicted of assaulting a woman during domestic incidents in October 2021 and January 2022 in his Limerick Township home.

Nickel, a father of two who served 22 years as a Whitpain police officer, was sentenced to two years’ probation on two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and two summary counts of harassment. He also must complete 50 hours of community service and complete an anger management counseling program as conditions of the sentence.
