Nate Mann, a 2015 graduate of Germantown Academy in Fort Washington (Whitemarsh Township), is one of the stars of Apple TV+’s World War II series Masters of the Air. The series tells the story of the pilots and other personnel from the 100th Bomb Group who flew B-17 Flying Fortresses who bombed Germany and other targets from a base in England and suffered heavy losses. The series is a companion piece to Band of Brothers and The Pacific, which originally aired on HBO.

Mann plays Major Robert “Rosie” Rosenthal, one of the pilots that is the one of the pilots focused on in the second half of the series. The crews of the bombers were able to return home after flying 25 combat missions. Major Rosenthal volunteered to serve an additional tour and flew a total of 52 missions. He was shot down twice. After the war, Rosenthal who was Jewish, would serve as a prosecutor at the  Nuremberg trials. He died in 2007.

While at Germantown Academy, Mann appeared in the school’s theater productions, and studied acting at The Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. He went on to graduate from Julliard in 2019. Mann grew up in Rydal.

Mann has appeared in the films Licorice Pizza and Ex-Husbands. His first television role was on Ray Donovan for three episodes in 2020. His latest television series, Apple Never Falls, debuted on Peacock on March 14th.
