Camilla Lutte of Lower Gwynedd and Haley Elliott of Blue Bell have been selected to attend the U-16 Junior Women’s National Team Selection Camp, USA Field Hockey announced Tuesday.

Lutte (above left), a Class of 2028 midfielder for Wissahickon High School, and Elliot (above right), a Class of 2027 midfielder for The Hill School, competed against more than 1,000 athletes in USA Field Hockey’s 2024 Junior and Senior Nexus Championship to get the nod.

“The Summer of 2024 has been an exciting time for USA Field Hockey and Nexus Championship, presented by Osaka Hockey, was a huge part of that excitement” USA Field Hockey Director of Nexus Liz Sanders said in a release. “Over 1,000 athletes across all age groups competed in this premier pathway event. The level of play, competitiveness and commitment to excellence by all the players sets the stage for continued success by the Junior U.S. Women’s National Teams.”

The United States is hosting the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California. Both USA men’s and women’s teams will take part in the games.
