The Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), a state-funded grant program which supports the design, acquisition, and construction of regional improvement projects, has announced $5 million in grant funding on July 16th for the Ambler area. Local projects funded included:

Lower Gwynedd Township Public Works Facility

Lower Gwynedd Township was granted $1 million to consolidate and centralize its public works operations. Due to its growing population, the township seeks to expand operations. With the funding, Lower Gwynedd can acquire a site for the new facility and begin construction of the building.

Whitpain Township Community Center

Whitpain Township was awarded $500,000 towards the construction of the Whitpain Township Community Center. Construction of the center is underway.

Gwynedd Mercy University

$250,000 was awarded to Gwynedd Mercy University to renovate its Julia Ball Auditorium and academic space in St. Bernard Hall. The funding will allow for HVAC replacements, flooring upgrades, an ADA-compliant elevator and restrooms, spectator seating, and technology infrastructure.

Mitzvah Circle Foundation

Mitzvah Circle Foundation, a Montco nonprofit that delivers clothing, diapers, and essentials to those in need, received $1.5 million to build a new warehouse. The warehouse will include multiple loading docks, cold storage, and additional parking. The expansion will allow Mitzvah Circle to grow its reach to residents in crisis. Mitzvah Circle is currently located in Lansdale.
