A Look At The Grand Opening Ceremony For Wissahickon High School’s Natatorium

On November 2, the Wissahickon School community came together to celebrate the completion of the new Natatorium and surrounding facility.

The Natatorium boasts a 10-lane competition pool with seating for 342 spectators, and a place for the WHS swim, water polo and diving teams as well as Trojan Aquatics and Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club (WCAC) to call home.  The pool will now allow the Physical Education Department to add classes and programs like instructional swim classes and lifeguard training.

The swim team and the water polo teams participated in the Grand Opening event and took the ceremonial first plunge.  There were also relay races, a water polo scrimmage and a swim noodle cutting.

The short video below, taken from the Wissahickon School District’s website ,describes the facility and shows some of the event.  For photos of the event, refer to Wissahickon School District’s photo gallery.
