Upper Dublin School District hires new Director of Technology and Innovation, principal of Jarrettown Elementary School

The Upper Dublin School District announced today the hiring of Colleen Yenser as the Director of Technology and Innovation, and Michael Ridout as the new principal of Jarrettown Elementary School.

“We are delighted to welcome Ms. Yenser and Mr. Ridout to the Upper Dublin team,” said Dr. Laurie Smith, superintendent. “Ms. Yenser demonstrated a deep understanding of how technology can elevate teaching, learning, and operations, while Mr. Ridout expressed a strong commitment to community building and student-centered leadership. These strengths resonated with our selection committees and reflect the values we prioritize as a district. Their expertise will be instrumental as we continue advancing our mission and supporting all learners.”

Yenser most recently served as the Assistant Director of Technology in the School District of Lancaster, where she supported district technology integration efforts and led a 1:1 student device initiative. Prior to that, she held leadership roles as the Executive Director of Enterprise Systems and Application Development for West Chester University and as the Director of Technology for Downingtown Area School District.

“I’m honored to join the Upper Dublin School District and excited to support a culture of innovation and continuous improvement,” said Yenser. “I look forward to working alongside staff, students, families, and the broader community to thoughtfully explore how technology can enhance teaching and learning.”

Ridout most recently served as principal of Little Cypress Intermediate School in Texas. During his tenure, he led campus initiatives focused on student well-being, inclusive practices, and academic growth. Mr. Ridout has also served as an assistant principal and began his career as an English and Theatre teacher.

“After 25 years of service, I am thrilled to begin a new chapter in Upper Dublin as the principal of Jarrettown Elementary,” said Ridout. “Its reputation for excellence, the leadership of Dr. Smith, and the welcoming, purposeful culture I saw throughout the community made it clear this is where I belong. I’m honored to join the team and excited to contribute to Jarrettown’s continued success.”
