From Wissahickon Fire Company’s post:
The Wissahickon Fire Company is deeply saddened by the passing of our current Deputy Chief, Jonathan Deck.
Over the years, his leadership shaped countless young men and women into skilled firefighters who served with pride, devotion, and professionalism at Station 7.
Jonathan had a passion for everything he touched. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy his wife, two young sons, and his two beloved hunting dogs. Bringing his two sons to the firehouse to see the trucks or grab a lollipop never failed to put a smile on his face. He often shared stories of bird hunts with “the girls,” as he fondly called his dogs, and the time he spent training them to be their best.
Beyond the fire service, Jonathan was a dedicated business owner who took immense pride in his work and his team. His attention to detail, high standards, and commitment to excellence were reflected in everything he did.
Jonathan was an aggressive firefighter who always placed the safety of his crew first. He will be remembered as one of the finest firefighters ever to serve at Station 7. To say he will be missed is an understatement but his legacy will live on through those he trained, led, and inspired.
