Police arrest man caught burglarizing a vacant Maple Glen home

The Horsham Township Police Department announced the arrest of Ishmir Ra, 49, who is accused of burglarizing a home on Butler Pike in the Maple Glen section of the township on the evening of Saturday, May 24.

According to the report, the homeowner was not home at the time and noticed a suspicious male loitering around the property on home surveillance cameras. Ra, who was in the act of burglarizing the home when police arrived, “bedded down in the grass and then fled on foot to attempt to elude police.”

Officers successfully pursued Ra and took him into custody for burglary and loitering/prowling at night.

The report notes that he used a tool to break a basement window and gain access to the home.

“Be vigilant and call 911 if you notice suspicious activity on your cameras. Also, always remember to either call in to the police station, or utilize the Vacant Home Check form here, to request patrols of your home while you are away,” the report said.
