Rich’s Deli in Fort Washington to celebrate 45th anniversary this month

Rich’s Deli in Fort Washington is looking to spread the word about a milestone achievement: 45 years in business.

Owner Rich Rosenau took over the property on May 30, 1978. Since that time, Rich’s has served as a consistent meeting place for area residents.

Located adjacent to Germantown Academy and next to the Fort Washington train station, the deli’s interior is decorated with local high-school banners, newspaper clippings of high school sports legends, photos of Rich’s two sons, and Philadelphia sports paraphernalia, including a seat salvaged from Veteran’s stadium.

“We’d like to continue doing what we’ve been doing, and acknowledge that it’s been 45 years,” Rich said. “We appreciate the continued loyalty and we appreciate knowing everybody. I know multiple generations of families in the area. We’re just trying to share the announcement with our extended family.”

The deli’s main patrons include students from Germantown Academy and commuters who work in Philadelphia. The same employees have been with him for an average of 25 years, Rich said.

The eat-in/take out deli’s hours are:

Monday – Friday | 7:00am – 5:30pm
Saturday | 7:00am – 3:30pm
Sunday | 7:00am – 1:30pm
