Five months ago, I was working at a music marketing agency in Philly as an Email Marketing Manager. I woke up around 5:30AM and spent my days coding and designing email templates and campaigns, and got home around 7PM every night. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I loved the people that I worked with and (I think) I was really good at what I did, but spending close to three hours of my day traveling to and from a job that had me talking to a computer screen for the majority of my workdays was not my ideal situation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I wanted to be closer to home. I wanted to have more time to spend on building my coaching business. And I wanted to interact with real, dynamic, passion-filled humans. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Enter, @forestandmain. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know that everyone has their opinions about working in the restaurant industry, but here’s mine: I belong here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The brewery is a four-minute bike ride away from our house, and I get to talk to, interact with and form genuine friendships with new people every single day, all because we share a common interest in a little thing called “craft beer”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And while it won’t be forever, it makes sense right now. My bank account is fuller and heart is fuller. It lights me up in a way that none of my other jobs have in recent years, and it makes me feel like I matter. ✨

My most simple, profound joy: kissing my children. Works like Xanax.
