Upper Dublin commissioners to consider plastic bag ban at next board meeting

The Upper Dublin Board of Commissioners will consider adopting an ordinance which would prohibit businesses from providing single-use plastic carry-out bags to customers during board’s March 12 meeting.

A motion to advertise the ordinance was approved by the board during its February 13 meeting, according to The Reporter.

“The ordinance is only for plastic bags, not polystyrene or straws,” board President Ira Tackel said at the meeting, as quoted by The Reporter. “It will not take effect for six months.”
