Today marks the grand opening of Chef Chad Rosenthal’s newest enterprise – Banh Street in Spring House. For the uninitiated, Chad Rosenthal, of The Lucky Well and Food Network Fame, already has a Bánh Street Banh mi (Vietnamese Hoagie) shop in Abington. This second Bánh Street location is specializing in Fried Chicken and a number of other delicious Bánh style sandwiches. We had a chance to visit this location for lunch today and can say we will be back again…and again.

The place was jammed as we expected. Chef Rosenthal already has a stellar reputation for serving up some of the best food in the area and with recent articles in the Ambler Gazette and on Philly.Com, Ambler area residents and beyond couldn’t wait to try the cuisine at this new spot. Although the specialty is Fried Chicken, we decided on The Al Bánhdy (ha ha)- Spicy Marinated Ribeye with House Mayo, Pickled Daikon and Carrots, Fresh Cucumber and Jalapeno. WOW…a perfect mix of spicy and savory that made us wish we ordered two. We also tried the Fried Chicken Strips which also had us regretting only getting one order.

The Grand Opening of Banh Street Fried Chicken kicks-off today and goes through Sunday. Over this Grand Opening weekend, ten percent of sales go to Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard in Ambler, an organization that is providing food to those who need it most. “As an Ambler resident, who owns and operates multiple businesses in Ambler, it’s important to support the community, especially during the winter when some families have to choose to eat or pay for heat,” said Chad Rosenthal. “Combining Banh Street Chicken’s grand opening with a fundraiser for Mattie Dixon is a great way to introduce bánh mi hoagies and seasoned fried chicken, while helping put food on the table for families in need.”

Banh Street Chicken is located on 832 N, Bethlehem Pike in Ambler, and will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Delivery service is available through UberEATS and corporate catering services.
