During a December 23rd meeting of the Wissahickon School Board, the board voted to appoint Susan Kanopka as interim principal at Lower Gwynedd Elementary School. This move follows a vote to terminate Philip Leddy (pictured at top), who has served as the principal since 2023. Leddy was recently captured on a voicemail message making antisemitic remarks about a parent of a student.

Kanopka is a former school principal and currently the district’s supervisor of curriculum.
