A yoga studio is opening at 10 Cavalier Drive in Ambler. The studio is being opened by Maura Manzo, who started practicing yoga in after her apartment in downtown Ambler was destroyed in a 2006 fire. Her first class was at Twisters, a studio that previously existed above the space now home to Tannery Run Brew Works. Manzo has not yet announced the name of the new studio that is targeted to open in October.
Manzo has previously taught and co-owned a yoga studio in Conshohocken and has led numerous yoga trips around the world. She took a four year hiatus from teaching, but decided to open a new studio when she “felt the pull to create something new that helps bring people together, focuses on mental + emotional health as much as physical and cultivates joy.” When determining where to open a new studio, she chose the location in Ambler due to it being in the center of a quaint downtown surrounded by other small businesses.
In addition to yoga, the studio will also offer “other mindbody practices that focus on whole body health plus an events calendar that helps nurture a vibrant community.”
Manzo has been sharing short videos about herself and the studio on Instagram as it prepares to open. You can also register here to be updated via email.
