2.8 miles of Swede Road to shut down for $56M widening project

PennDOT recently announced that roadway reconstruction has been scheduled for Swede Road between Dekalb Pike and Erbs Mill Road for a $56.5 million project to widen and reconstruct a 2.8-mile section of U.S. 202 in East Norriton and Whitpain townships.

Swede Road will be closed and detoured between Monday, April 17 and Monday, May 15.

During the 24/7 closure, motorists will be directed to use U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) and Township Line Road. Local access will be maintained up to the closure.

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel near the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
