Upper Dublin Township awarded $1.1M grant for two missing sidewalk connections

Upper Dublin Township has been awarded $1,139,179 in grant funds to complete two missing connections along Farm Lane (from Melissa Drive to Loch Alsh Avenue) and Limekiln Pike (from Fulton Drive to Maple Glen Elementary School) as well as an overhead Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon within the Limekiln Pike School Zone for pedestrian access to Maple Glen Elementary School.

Final design and permitting for these two connections should begin in 2024 or early 2025, the township said.

Funding was provided by the federal Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TASA) program.

“TASA provides funding for projects and activities defined as transportation alternatives, including on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, and environmental mitigation, trails that serve a transportation purpose, and safe routes to school projects,” the township said in a statement.
