Update on power outages in Ambler, Lower Gwynedd, Whitpain, and Upper Dublin

PECO had been working throughout the day to restore power in the region that was knocked out by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Below are the latest details:

Last evening at 7:30 p.m., the Borough of Ambler was almost 100% without power. That is now down to 11.38% of 357 accounts. There are less than a handful of small outages (less than 20 accounts) throughout the borough, but there are more significant outages in neighboring municipalities that are making an impact.

Lower Gwynedd had just over 50% of the accounts in the township without power last evening. That is down to 13.92% or 650 accounts. There is a larger outage (which could be bleeding into Ambler) near Ambler Yards that is projected to be restored by 11:00 p.m. this evening. However, there is a second large outage in the Spring House section of the township that is still pending assessment. The photo at the top shows a down tree causing an outage in Spring House.

Upper Dublin Township was the hardest hit area and last night it had just over 50% of accounts without power. This area at the least amount of progress. Currently, 43.16% or 4,545 accounts remain without power. We clicked into the larger outages in the township and all have a “pending assessment” status.

Whitpain Township had just under 20% of accounts without power last evening. That is down to 5.09% or 452 accounts. There appear to be two larger ones. One is near Wings Field and that is expected to be resolved by 11:00 p.m. this evening. There is a second larger one in Whitpain Woods that is still pending assessment.
