Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery and Delaware Counties (Habitat MontDelco) is planning to open a ReStore this fall in the Montgomery Commons shopping center (1200 Welsh Road, North Wales/Montgomery Township).
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are non-profit home improvement stores and donation centers, according to their Facebook page. The store replaces the 2nd Avenue Thrift Store, which closed in June.
From their announcement:
This new ReStore is going to be one of the largest of its kind in the entire country, designed to be a vibrant new pillar of our community – far more than just another thrift store. We are almost doubling the size of the former 2nd Avenue store, expanding our footprint to include not one, but two storefronts! This will allow for a significantly broader selection of high-quality items, including building materials, furniture, household goods, books, media, electronics, appliances, clothing, and so much more.
Geppert Lumber, a building material dealer located in the Roslyn section of Abington Township, donated between $25,000 to $30,000 of materials to the store last week.
