Ambler police offering program to help safely intervene when elderly, memory-impaired, and neurodiverse community members have an emergency

The Ambler Borough Police Department announced on May 1st “Project Safe Return,” a program focused on elderly, memory-impaired, and neurodiverse community members. The project enables community members and their families to provide information about their loved ones so the department can be prepared if it comes into contact with them.

To enroll, the community member and/or family member will need to complete a Project Safe Return form that can be found here. Having this information on hand during an emergency will help officers make informed decisions about how to intervene peacefully and avoid actions that may trigger fear, anxiety, or even a violent response.

If you have any questions about this program or would like further details, call the non-emergency line at 215-646-1000.
