  4. The Montgomery County Concert Band will present their Annual Spring Concert on Sunday, April 23, at 3:00 pm in the auditorium of Souderton Area High School, on Lower Road in Franconia Township. The program will be a Tribute to America, featuring music from around the United States. Faith Wasson, Principal Flute with the band, is the featured soloist. Faith is an international performing artist, having toured throughout Europe and North America as an orchestral solo musician. She also manages her own monthly chamber music series entitled, Flute with Faith & Friends, featuring an array of diverse repertoire and instrumentation. She teaches flute, piccolo and chamber music online and at her home in Glenside, PA. The 70-member band was formed in 1995, by founding director, Steve Frederick. Currently, the band is under the direction of Charles Neidhardt and Assistant Director Ryan Pongras. The band is located in the Lansdale/Souderton area and consists of musicians from around Montgomery and Bucks Counties. The band has received numerous honors, including the Sudler Silver Scroll award from the John Philip Sousa Foundation and Third Prize for Community Bands in the 2022 National Prize contest. In addition, the Montgomery County Concert Band has performed three times at the annual conference of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and twice at the national conference of the Association of Concert Bands. Over the years numerous soloists have appeared with the band, including Carol Jantsch, Principal Tuba of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Alto Saxophonist Andrew Neu, and Matt Gallagher, Principal Trumpet with the Philadelphia Pops Orchestra, along with band members Jan Jochems, Allison Kershner, and Michael Langston.
