Senator Maria Collett of Montgomery County recently announced $388,566 in grant funding for 29 local fire companies and emergency medical services (EMS) departments awarded by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

The grants will go towards equipment and training, Collett said.

Local recipients include Fort Washington Fire Co Number 1 and Wissahickon Fire Company, both of which received $15,000 in grant funding.
