Montgomery County officials will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Bethlehem Pike pedestrian improvement project on Monday, September 30, at 12:00pm at 714 N Bethlehem Pike in Lower Gwynedd.
From the county’s announcement:
This ribbon cutting celebrates new sidewalks and pedestrian bridges that make Bethlehem Pike a safer, more welcoming environment for pedestrians. Lower Gwynedd Township received Montco 2040 Implementation Grant funds from Montgomery County for these improvements. This grant funding supported sidewalk connections and the installation of two pedestrian bridges along both sides of Bethlehem Pike. This portion of Bethlehem Pike includes car dealerships, residential homes, business and professional offices. This section also connects the downtown area with the local schools and school district offices. With these new sidewalks, students of Lower Gwynedd Elementary School, Wissahickon Middle School and Wissahickon High School are able to safely walk and bike to and from school along a safe route and access the downtown and residential neighborhoods along Bethlehem Pike.
