Today Montgomery County officials announced that there were 145 new positive test results for the Coronavirus in the county since yesterday and the new overall total is 1,134.
Of the 1,134 approximately 250 patients are hospitalized and approximately 70 are on a ventilator.
It was also announced that the county’s testing site at Temple’s Ambler campus will close on April 10th. The rate of positive results has grown from 13% to 21% positive over the past couple of weeks. County Commissioner Dr. Val Arkoosh said this jump was expected.
The death total has also climbed to 27. The family latest victims are:
- an 80-year-old male in Lower Moreland Township
- a 78-year-old male in Lower Moreland Township
- a 61-year-old female in Lower Moreland Township
- an 84-year-old male in Lower Merion Township
- an 87-year-old female in Lower Merion Township
Four of the victims died in the hospital with underlying conditions. None of the victims are believed to be connected to other victims.
The latest numbers locally are:
- Ambler is at 17, which is one more than yesterday
- Lower Gwynedd is at 21, which is four more than yesterday
- Upper Dublin is at 40, which is eight more than yesterday
- Whitpain is at 29, which is five more than yesterday
