Montgomery County officials announced today through a press release that there are 73 new positive test results for Coronavirus in the county, of which 26 are from long-term care facilities and one is from the county’s correctional facility. The total number of countywide confirmed positive test results is now at 5,010.
County officials also announced nine additional confirmed deaths due to Coronavirus, bringing the countywide total to 414. Neither the press release nor the county’s website provides the number of probable deaths. The number of confirmed deaths that are from long-term care facilities was also not provided.
In regards to reopening. All of Southeastern Pennsylvania, including Montgomery County, is in the red phase. To move to the yellow phase, which loosens the restrictions put in place due to the pandemic, the average daily number of positive cases needs to average 30 over 14 days. In the above graph created by Montgomery County, the blue bars represent the daily positive test totals. The grey line is the average. Today the 14-day average is 110.2, which is 80.2 from the goal of 30. Over the last 14-days, the average number of daily positive test results went down 18.8.
These numbers represent all positive test results, so they include those from long-term care facilities which some counties are pushing to not include. Montgomery County Commissioner Dr. Val Arkoosh has stated that she believes that data from long-term care facilities should be included. - Lower Gwynedd is at 112, which is one more than yesterday
- There have been 14 deaths overall in Lower Gwynedd
- Upper Dublin is at 104, which is one more than yesterday
- There have been nine deaths overall in Upper Dublin
- Whitpain is at 89, which is one more than yesterday
- There have been three deaths overall in Whitpain
