PennDOT to resurface segment of Route 309 from Aug 12 through mid-October

PennDOT announced that crews will repair and resurface a section of Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) in Upper Dublin, Whitemarsh, and Springfield townships beginning Monday, August 12.

A contractor will resurface 10 miles of Route 309 and associated ramps using material which will seal the roadway and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface, PennDOT said.

Periodic nighttime lane closures are scheduled in both directions on Route 309 between the Susquehanna Road and the Springfield interchanges for milling and paving from August 12 through mid-October from 9:00pm to 5:00am the following morning.

The other locations scheduled for resurfacing under this project are:

  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Route 73 (Church Road) Interchange.
  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange.
  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) ramps at the Highland Avenue Interchange.
  • Route 309 (Fort Washington Expressway) collector road between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Highland Avenue interchanges.
