Upper Dublin is One of Six Municipal Projects to Receive Montgomery County Transportation Program Grant

The Montgomery County Commissioners announced at their meeting last Thursday that six projects across the county will receive just over $1 million in Montgomery County Transportation Program grants for 2019.

This is the second round of grants for this program, which is funded by the County’s $5 Motor Vehicle Registration Fee. Municipalities were invited to apply for funds to implement projects that include road construction and repair, traffic sign and signal installation, crosswalk markings, curb ramps, pedestrian trails within public right-of-way and street lighting.

“Municipalities use these grants to fund projects that they want to do to improve traffic and pedestrian safety for their residents. By using these grants, the municipalities free up local dollars that can be used for other high priority projects that they have,” said Dr. Val Arkoosh, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.
