Upper Dublin’s Hurricane Ida Relief Fund (HIRF) Round 2 application period now open

Upper Dublin Township recently announced that the Round 2 application period for the Hurricane Ida Relief Fund (HIRF) is now open until April 30.

For more information, including eligibility and application materials, you can click here. Paper applications are available at the Township offices at 370 Commerce Drive. Any questions related to HIRF should be directed to hirf@upperdublin.net or (215)-643-1600 ext. 3138.

From the Township’s announcement:

HIRF was created to ease the financial strain experienced by property owners and residents impacted by the tornado and flooding of Hurricane Ida, and is financed by a $1.5 million grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development. Anyone interested in submitting an application is strongly encouraged to apply for reimbursement of eligible storm-related expenses as soon as possible. HIRF is available to all storm-affected residents as a one-time grant of up to $3,500.

The application period for Round 2 HIRF applications is April 1st to April 30th. Receipt of applications will be confirmed by email. If approved, grants will be issued within 60 days. If denied, the applicant will be notified by email with an explanation, and a future application will be accepted. Awards are dependent upon available funds; there is no guarantee of award or amount of award.

Note that completed Round 1 applications (those received through March 31st) are currently under final review. Award letters for Round 1 will be issued by email by the third week in April. Applicants receiving a HIRF grant award in any amount are not eligible to apply for additional funding in future rounds.
