The Upper Gwynedd Board of Commissioners recognized Sergeant Steve Gillen for earning the 2022 “Top Gun” award for his best overall score in firearms qualifications, and for being recognized by his fellow officers as the 2022 Officer of the Year.

The firearms courses, which officers take four times a year, include moving while shooting, decision-based shooting, and shooting at moving targets, all under time constraints.

Sergeant Gillen is one of only two officers to earn the Officer of the Year recognition twice.

He is retiring after 33 years of dedicated service.
