We went to the protest today that was organized in response to the comments made by Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Gale (R) about Black Lives Matter.

There were hundreds of people in attendance. We have some video and photos below.

One thing to note. While this protest came about due to Gale’s comments, there was another element that involved all three county commissioners. In late February, all three county commissioners voted to fire Dean Beer and Keisha Hudson, the two top people in the public defenders’ office due to a brief that was filed about cash bail.

This was on the way to becoming a pretty big issue and even The Washington Post even covered the firings. But then the pandemic hit and it was put on the back burner. If you watch the video below the first speaker addresses this issue. Also, see the last photo below.
